Original rooster drawing that inspired Tuf Crest

I love comic books, Marvels or DC and also European comics some I grew up with like Tintin or Asterix and others I discovered later like Enki Bilal and the Nicopol Trilogy for example.

Moving to New Zealand, more than 15’000kms away from my previous home was quite a jump, especially with 3 little kids… And it was a good move, here things are possible, such as teaching new entrant drawing just because I am illustrator and my kid is in the class : I found it so awesome!!!

As I never was a teacher, especially for such a young age, I had to go with the flow… The attention span of a 5 years old happen to be of a few seconds… I had to find a way to hook them quick on something. As a good coffee addict, I had my carton cup of coffee, I drew two circles and created a bird, but they could do a sheep or a pig or anything they wanted… It worked perfectly! I was amazed!

I didn’t know it yet, but tuf crest was born… This was the origin of Tuf Crest.

I thought I could take the drawing on the computer to colour it in and sell hoodies with it. And so I began to think the character through, his story, his background his friends… That gave me the material to make a really cool comic book (soon to come)…
