Staedler drawing competition
This competion that took place last winter (2025) was about to draw anything we wanted but with no computer whatsoever. I found the idea to go back to non numeric design engaging. I then decided to throw a funny dynamic Tuf Crest on a mono wheel scooter... Here I wanted to give a glimose on how I work and show that I am really designing it with a simple crayon even if I animated it with Ai... (I am guilty) on Tik Tok (@ tuf.cr est)... And here is the result :

Street attitude
Now that he is settled in NZ, our little French rooster has made friends : Lili the Kiwi, Joe the Pukeko and they are playing basket ball together on the playground. In my query to develop Tuf Crest as a character, the first thing to do was for him to have friends with specific attitudes and way of being. Lili is fun and engaging, soft and friendly, whereas Joe is more rustic and rough, has hard time to communicate or make friends but is a good guy.

Tuf Crest Origins
I love comic books, Marvels or DC and also European comics some I grew up with like Tintin or Asterix and others I discovered later like Enki Bilal and the Nicopol Trilogy for example. Moving to New Zealand, more than 15’000kms away from my previous home was quite a jump, especially with 3 little kids… And it was a good move, here things are possible, such as teaching new entrant drawing just because I am illustrator and my kid is in the class : I found it so awesome!!!
